In January 2026, AmeIyoba launched its first pilot focused on reducing immediate barriers to education and learning directly from families and children in the communit

 
  • Education is a right, yet for many families it has become inaccessible due to cost, instability, and lack of resources. This pilot was designed to meet an immediate need while allowing us to listen, observe, and learn directly from the community.

  • This pilot supported over sixty children and families within one local community. While small in scale, it allowed us to build trust, test our approach, and better understand how education is experienced at the household level.

    • School fees and supplies remain a significant barrier to consistent attendance

    • Families are deeply invested in their children’s education, even when resources are limited

    • Confidence and self-esteem emerged as key outcomes when children felt prepared for school

    • Community-led support feels more trusted than external intervention
